Antique GIA 6.73ct Old Cushion Peridot and Diamond Edwardian Platinum Ring.
From the mid-1800s, Peridot was a favored stone in jewelry, reaching the height of its popularity during the aesthetic period of the Victorian era and the reign of Edward VII of England, who designated it as his favorite gemstone.
Edwardian Rings represent some of the finest examples of jewelry in existence. Edwardian Diamond jewels were made to look as light and delicate as possible, reflecting the femininity of the Edwardian lady and complimenting the ethereal fashions of the time.
This breathtakingly beautiful 1900s Edwardian dazzler features a magnificent bright green Old European Cushion Natural Peridot and DIAMONDS designed in a Bombe shaped ring that sparkles on all sides. Diamonds adorned with decorative hand piercing, and delicate mil-grain details.
The Antique Cushion 6.73ct Peridot has lots of fire, beautiful color and just few natural inclusions on the side ( nothing obvious to the eye), GIA certified. The measurements are 12.58x10.10x6.43mm.
Old Swiss cut diamonds. G-H-I color, VS- SI clarity, totaling to estimated 1.14ct.
Ring measures the top: 13.81mmx13.83mm.
Sits medium on the finger 6.49mm, very shiny and brilliant.
The band tappers to 1.36mm on the bottom.
The weight of Platinum ( tested) is 6.75grams.
Finger size 6 3/4, can be re-sized.
A delightful Edwardian piece for any antique, vintage and Gem collector since Peridot is quite rare in large sizes. Beautiful Edwardian ring that will cover your finger from knuckle to knuckle.
Condition:
Given the ring's age and condition just very minor sign of wear on the mount, slight patina. The peridot is in great condition. The diamonds appear all in place and original. The setting has wonderful open work, as each surrounding diamond has beautiful mil-grained edges, and a soft carved design down the shank that shows little the wear of a well loved ring. We think that it was staying in one family without being sold and re-sold.
*** Since we list antique and vintage items we try to make sure to identify any issues. However please go over the photos so you can assess any wear issues that would matter to you personally.
Please note: Gemstones may vary slightly in color tones from one computer to another.

Retail Value is $17000.
